I first got into beekeeping from my Father who got into beekeeping as a hobby, he took me out and showed me through his hive, he proceeded to explain what the bees do in the hive and the one thing that fascinated me the most was the different age groupings of the bees within the hive, the different roles that each of these bees has.  In the year 2016 I was traveling overseas when I received a message from a good friend regarding a possible business venture, The details were scarce, the only thing I knew was that it involved beekeeping which I had never done before but to be honest I didn’t care too much. I was already in two minds about returning home to New Zealand so the idea of a potential business with two of my closest friends was enough to convince me to move back home.

I have always been interested in animals, I have had four different breeds of chickens when I was younger, I’ve had various styles of aquariums and very unique tropical fish, and now bees. Animals have always had a very intriguing affect on me, I find they have a very specific structure and how things need to be for them to survive and flourish. Finding and perfecting these different aspects as best you can helps these animals flourish and seeing them at there full potential provides an amazing personal gratification
